QDOS……Lorne’s premier accommodation & arts venue includes major sculptural works in a quintessential Australian setting and four interior gallery spaces displaying the fine art of leading Australian and International artists.

GALLERY EXHIBITIONS
Qdos invitation exhibitions run between New Year and Easter each year.
Exhibitions are generally group shows of a fortnightly duration.

Sculpture Park
The three acre setting in the thick towering eucalypts is sited a decorative pond surrounded by works of our leading sculptors. Each Easter Qdos hosts the Annual Open Air Sculpture Exhibition featuring indoor and outdoor works. From Easter 2005 Qdos will host a Sculptors Symposium in conjunction with the Annual Open Air Sculpture Exhibition.

The Studio
Qdos studios were established in 1972 on the current Qdos site in Allenvale Road, Lorne.
A strong feature of the Qdos Studio is the creative exploration of clay as an artistic medium.
Qdos studios features a 9 metre long wood firing ANAGAMA kiln. The kiln is fired twice a year.

The kiln is fired for 7 days and nights. This develops a bed of fly ash on the work in the kiln before the final temperature of 1350c is reached. A taskforce to fire the kiln is gathered from the ceramics related institutes around Australia. Twelve people are required to conduct the firing, firewood preparation, food & bedding etc. The studio offers young artists the opportunity to work along side Wilkie as assistants developing ideas and techniques.
